JULIE SCHOOL AND BAAL CHANDRA

In consonance with our priority to reach out to poor, Notre Dame Academy has started a school for the poor called Julie School. The salaries of the part-time teachers are paid by annual contributions made by the students of Notre Dame Academy. The Kindergarden section and Classes I , II, III, IV and V run parallel with the main school. Currently, Classes VI and VI have also been introduced.

The student of Notre Dame Academy are encouraged to have a spirit of caring and sharing for the Julie and the Bal Chandra children. Through their meritorious efforts, thy have raised the money for the new Julie School building which stands in front of Julie Hall. We have extended the facilities of our School for the use of the Bal Chandra as well.

The BAL CHANDRA non-formal school has recently been introduced into Notre Dame Academy with the purpose of educating and making literate all those economically deprived boys and girls who have no opportunity to go to school or who are victims of child- labour . They are instructed by staff members and the students themselves for a duration of two to three periods within the school curriculum itself. This programme conscientises our student toward an awareness of the needs of the poorer section of society.
